THE ITSC CREATIVE AWARDS
The Institute for Theatre and Social Change (ITSC) at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts is launching a competition to support student projects that utilize theatre and other arts for social change. The awards are multidisciplinary and are open to all USC students. The awards provide funding to students (ranging from $300 – $1000) to create projects which will be given a public presentation in the spring.
What do you need to know about submitting to the ITSC Creative Awards?
WHO?
All undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled at USC are eligible to apply.
WHAT FORMAT?
Anything you imagine that combines the arts and social change! Create a play, an art installation, a graphic novel, a short film, a video game, an animation; or write music; choreograph a dance performance; design a poster campaign; create a public service announcement; work in multimedia.
TOPICS?
A social justice issue you are passionate about! For example, restorative justice, reproductive rights, environmental justice/climate change, voting rights, empowering youth, people without housing, income disparity.
HOW TO APPLY?
Submit a short proposal about a project you want to create to ITSC. NOTE: The ITSC Creative Awards application form follows this announcement.
FUNDING?
The awards panel will determine the amount of funding to be granted to the selected student projects; amounts will range from $500 to $1000.
